Coroplast Signs: When They Make Sense for Your Business or Event

A home sale, an event, a campaign, or a seasonal offer. They all need a sign that gets seen, holds up, and does not cost as much as a permanent sign. That is what coroplast signs are for. Here is when they make sense, how long they last, and what to prepare before you order.
What is coroplast?
Coroplast is corrugated plastic. It has channels inside like cardboard, but it does not get soggy or fall apart. It is light, easy to cut, and prints in full color. That is why it is very common for yard signs, real estate signs, and event signage. At V&V we recommend it for seasonal or campaign pieces because it is light and affordable.
When a coroplast sign makes sense
Coroplast shines for temporary and medium-term uses:
- "For sale" or "For rent" signs.
- Directional signs at events and fairs.
- Campaign and community event signs.
- Seasonal offers in front of your store.
- Job site signs for the length of the project.
If the sign will sit on your storefront for years, look at other materials and our local business signs guide. Our PVC, Dibond, or acrylic guide compares the longer-lasting options.
How long it lasts outdoors
Think months, not years. Coroplast does not absorb water, so rain is not the issue. The sun is: over time the ink fades. For an event, a campaign, or a seasonal offer, it does the job. If it will be outdoors, tell us when you request a quote. An outdoor piece needs materials and inks that hold up, and often a laminate.
How it is installed
It can go on stakes in the grass, on a fence, on a wall, or on an easel. At V&V the first thing we ask is where it will be mounted. The material and thickness follow from that.
Coroplast, PVC, or D-Board
- Coroplast: light and water-resistant. Best for lawns and temporary outdoor use.
- PVC: stiffer with a cleaner finish. Good for indoor or covered areas.
- Folding D-Board: stands on its own on a table or floor. Great for fairs and presentations.
See every option on our signs and D-Boards page.
Design tips for reading at a distance
A yard sign gets read in seconds, often from a car:
- One short message.
- Big, bold letters.
- Strong contrast, like black on yellow or white on blue.
- One phone number or one website, not both if space is tight.

What to have ready for a quote
- Sign size.
- Quantity.
- One-sided or two-sided.
- Where it will be mounted.
- Your deadline.
With that we can give you a clear quote. Browse examples in our work gallery.
Frequently asked questions
Does rain damage coroplast?
No. It is plastic and does not absorb water. Long, direct sun exposure is what affects it most.
Can it be printed on both sides?
Yes. That helps when the sign is seen from two directions, like on a corner.
How long does it last outdoors?
Months, not years. For something permanent, look at PVC or sintra.
Can you help with the design?
Yes. If your artwork is not ready, we prepare it with you before printing.
